Cutting the Shelter 2.0 files *) all part files created with 3/8" bit with speeds for an Alpha tool with spindle. If that doesn't work for you, you can download the PartWorks crv files and re-toolpath with your own preferred setting. *) Z-axis zeroed at material top surface, and cut approx. .02 into spoilboard surface with normal material thicknesses... 0.72" for 3/4" material 0.47 for 1/2" material If the material that you're using varies from these thicknesses by much you'll need to retoolpath both the cuts and the puzzle joint pockets. *) The files assume a vacuum holddown system and are cut with a long lead-in ramp to help hold the parts until the cut is finished. Once again, re-toolpath if that doesn't suit you. *) There is purposely a little bit of clearance in the slots to account for expansion when the pieces are exposed to the elements...the slots are 0.75" wide. *) The wedges are cut out of 3/4" dowel in 4" lengths. The easiest way we've found is with a band saw, cutting a 4" long taper along the length of the dowel from one end, then cutting off the piece that's left. Repeat until the dowel is all gone, being VERY careful of your fingers toward the end when the dowel is getting short.
